30, Flirty & Thriving

Well, folks, today’s the day—I’m officially 30! 🎂🎈

I’ve spent the past few weeks reflecting on the wild ride that’s been my twenties and feeling all kinds of emotions about turning a new chapter. But honestly? I’m so excited. If 20-something me could see me now, I think she’d be proud.

Collage spells "BLONDE TIPSY MAMA" with photos of family, kids, and outdoor activities on a lavender background.

From mom life to wife life, career highs to personal lows, and learning to embrace every twist and turn, I’ve collected a lot of wisdom over the past 30 years. So, as I step into this new decade, I thought it’d be fun to share some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Here’s to the highs, the lows, and everything in between:

It’s OK to Not Have It All Together.

If 20-year-old Kelleen could’ve understood this one, life would’ve been a lot less stressful. Embrace the chaos, trust the process, and remember that everyone’s just figuring it out—whether it looks like they have it together or not.

Self-Care Isn’t Selfish—It’s Necessary.

I used to think taking time for myself was indulgent. Nope! After years of juggling work, marriage, and mom life, I’ve learned that filling up my own cup is the only way to pour love and energy into others. (Plus, the occasional bubble bath or Netflix binge doesn't hurt, either!)

Marriage Isn’t 50/50, It’s 100/100.

There are days when my husband and I are on the same page, laughing over inside jokes and dancing around the kitchen together. Then there are days when we’re exhausted and snappy. But through it all, I’ve learned that a successful marriage isn’t about dividing the work—it's about showing up with everything you’ve got, even when it’s hard.

Kids Teach You More Than You Teach Them.

The parenting lessons come fast and furious, but nothing has taught me more about patience, unconditional love, and humility than my kids. And the way they make me laugh? Pure magic.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff (or the Big Stuff, Honestly).

In my twenties, I was the queen of overthinking. Now? I let go a lot more.

The world is big, life is short, and there’s no use stressing over things that don’t matter in the long run.

You Can’t Pour From an Empty Cup.

Whether it’s being a mom, a wife, a friend, or a colleague, I’ve learned that I need to make sure I’m taking care of me first. Burnout is real, but I’ve learned that my happiness matters too—and I’m allowed to prioritize it.

Change Is Inevitable—Embrace It.

I used to fear change. But, honestly, the best things in my life came from change—becoming a mommy at 21, moving cities, changing careers, and embracing new opportunities. The unknown can be scary, but it’s also full of possibility.

Flirting is Fun (and Important)!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about marriage, it’s that keeping things flirty goes a long way. Whether it’s a silly text, a wink across the room, or a quick kiss in the kitchen, never forget to keep the spark alive.

Learn to Say No (and Stick to It).

I used to say yes to everything, thinking I could handle it all. Spoiler: I couldn't. Now, I’m way better about protecting my time, setting boundaries, and not feeling guilty for saying no. (Pro tip: it’s a game-changer for your mental health.)

There’s No Such Thing as Perfect.

Whether it’s my body, my house, my kids, or my marriage, perfection doesn’t exist. What matters is progress, not perfection. And I’m learning to love the mess.

Own Your Story.

Embrace who you are—flaws, quirks, and all. I’ve spent too much time trying to fit into molds that weren’t made for me. Now? I’m finally embracing my authentic self, and let me tell you, it feels SO much better.

Be Your Own Best Friend.

If I could tell my younger self one thing, it’d be: stop looking for validation outside of yourself. You’re worthy, you’re capable, and you’ve got your own back, always.

It’s OK to Outgrow Friendships.

I’ve learned that not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever—and that’s totally fine. As you evolve, so do your relationships. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, and let go of the ones who don’t.

Laughter Really Is the Best Medicine.

On the hardest days, a good laugh with my husband or a goofy moment with my kids is all I need to turn things around. Don’t underestimate the power of humor. It’s a total game-changer.

It’s Never Too Late to Try Something New.

Turning 30 has made me realize that I’m just getting started. There’s still so much I want to do, so many things I want to explore, and so many dreams to chase. And I’m not waiting for permission to go after them.

You Are the Company You Keep.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve learned the value of surrounding myself with people who inspire, support, and challenge me. Life’s too short for toxic relationships—invest in the ones that make you feel seen and heard.

Travel More, Worry Less.

Whether it’s a weekend getaway with my spouse or a solo trip with my bestie, travel has taught me that life’s about the experiences, not the Instagram-worthy moments. The memories you make are what stay with you.

Take Risks.

I used to shy away from risk, but I’ve learned that sometimes, the biggest rewards come from stepping outside your comfort zone. So in my 30s, I’m committed to taking more chances and seeing where they lead.

Don’t Compare Your Journey to Others.

It’s so easy to get stuck in the comparison trap, especially with social media. But here’s the thing: Your journey is yours and yours alone. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small they seem.

Embrace Your Flaws.

I’ve learned to love myself, quirks and all. My stretch marks? They tell a story of strength. My messy bun? That’s just my reality. I’m learning to appreciate all the things that make me, me.

Dream Big.

I’m excited for what the next decade holds because I know it’s going to be big.

Big dreams, big changes, and big adventures.

So here’s to the next chapter—bring it on, 30s.

Here’s to the Next Decade 🎉

I’m stepping into my 30s with a heart full of gratitude and a whole lot of excitement for what’s to come. These 30 years have shaped me, humbled me, and taught me more than I ever could have imagined.

But I’m not done yet.

In fact, I feel like I’m just getting started.

So, here’s to embracing every messy, beautiful, flirty, chaotic moment of life.

To growth, to love, to laughter, and to all the adventures that lie ahead. 30, I’m ready for you.

What have YOU learned in your 30's? Let me know—because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we’re always better together. 💕

Cheers babes!!

XX, Kelleen
